SEARCH has three decades of experience supporting infrastructure and development projects along coastal regions of the US. Our maritime archaeology staff conduct remote sensing surveys and collect bathymetric data, side-scan sonar, and sub-bottom profiler imagery to assess the potential for submerged cultural resources.
On- and offshore, we also have expertise with coastal and island archaeology and have worked across the Caribbean.
Our architectural historians have extensive experience recording and assessing the distinct architectural styles and materials associated with places along the coast.
Coastal clients include the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM), port authorities, departments of transportation (DOTs), the US Coast Guard, and various commercial customers.
